Our ShineAwayHome Ocean View is a large airy fresh and cheerful open plan studio. We are situated on the eastern side of the island of Rarotonga which is home to beautiful sunrises. ShineAwayHome is on the main road of Matavera, a studio that have been renovated from the well known TokerauJim Pearl Showroom to a now modern living space with outside decking, a garden full tropical foliage and with stunning mountain views. Matavera beach is a rugged shoreline is perfect for those early morning walks and great for shell seekers but not ideal for swimming. However the well known Muri beach is only 3km away with the infamous Muri night market also that comes alive four evenings every week. We a just a few steps to the absolute best coffee and croissants on the island. 2min walk to minimart where you will get all you need for your short stay

Situated on the rugged coast line of Matavera the beach might not be the best for swimming but still a great place to relax and enjoy the sounds of crashing waves.

Kitchen has all you might need from coffee machine with freshly ground coffee cold drinking water. Kitchen has a gas stove,microwave,fridge and small freezer, toaster ,kettle and all cooking utensils ,crockery and cutlery.fresh herbs from the garden if you like some for garnish.

Enjoy your meals in the dinning area inside, on the deck or the garden or take your cuppa to the beach and enjoy a sunrise.

On our studio walls hang large drone prints of Tokerau Jim’s work of iconic places on the island.

For your entertainment on a rainy day there is a TV and hard drive packed with a selection of movies and also a selection of books and magazines and board games.

Stainless Steel screen on the windows to keep mosquitoes out. The entire studio is air conditioned which is a big relief in the hot summer months.

We can certainly say you will have an enjoyable stay in a very relaxed and spacious studio with beautiful surroundings.
